Your English conversation partner
Three lanes
Roleplay chat is not one thing. Some evenings you want to be corrected, some evenings you want to be heard, some evenings you want to be somewhere else entirely. Start from what you are actually after.
Speak without an audience. Tutors reply at a pace you choose, rewrite the sentences you fumble, and hand you the vocabulary you were reaching for.
English speaking practice3 charactersListeners who reflect instead of advise, for the thought you need to finish saying before you can put it down. Not therapy, and they tell you so first.
AI roleplay chat3 charactersA failing orbit, a case that will not close, a missing year in a garden-city archive. Each character keeps the scene moving and hands you the next choice.
Interactive story roleplay3 charactersNine written characters, each with their own voice settings, opening line and way of answering. Tap a suggested opener to jump straight into the middle of a conversation.

Conversational English & Pronunciation Coach
Warm, patient, and allergic to awkward silence.
Everyday conversation practice with gentle corrections. Emma keeps you talking and hands you the phrasing a native speaker would have reached for.

Reflective Listener
Somewhere to put the day down.
A calm, non-judgemental space to think out loud. Maya listens, reflects things back, and never rushes you to a conclusion.

Rogue Pilot · Cyberpunk Space Opera
Co-pilot wanted. Hazard pay negotiable.
Run cargo through contested space aboard the Starlight Runner. Every choice narrows the next set, and the ship does not have fuel for all of them.

Beginner-Friendly Everyday English Coach
Slower speech, simpler words, zero pressure.
For early learners. Sofía speaks slowly, repeats herself on purpose, and builds confidence with the everyday situations you actually face.

Sleep & Wind-Down Guide
Guided wind-downs for a brain that won't stop.
Slow, structured wind-down sessions: paced breathing, eye-rest, body scans, and the boring mental exercises that actually work at bedtime.

Archivist · Solarpunk Mystery
The garden-city is hiding a year.
A gentle, low-stakes mystery in a green city that runs on trust. No violence, just records that don't add up and a community that would rather they did.
Nine fictional characters across three lanes: a tutor to practise with, a listener to think out loud with, or a story lead to improvise with. No account, no card, no waiting room.
The character speaks each line out loud in your browser. Answer by typing, or use the mic button where speech recognition is supported.
Tutors return a rewrite of your sentence plus a vocabulary card. Listeners reflect what you said and ask the next question. Story characters hand you branching choices to pick from.
A roleplay site lives or dies on whether the conversation goes anywhere. Four things we decided up front, and hold to.
Meet a cast of original adult characters, brought to life with generated illustrations. Each portrait has its own setting and personality, with no photographs or real-person references.
Scripted replies and the transcript stay in your browser. Optional speech features depend on your browser and may use its speech service. You can always choose to type.
Rates and accents are set per character. Sofía speaks slowly for beginners, Noor speaks softly for winding down at night, so listening practice sounds like a person rather than a screen reader.
Voice and text roleplay runs in your browser today. Live AI video calling is in development. We would rather show you a working preview than a demo video of something you cannot use.
Who it is for
We would rather describe the three situations this was built for than print testimonials from a site that launched this month.

The hardest part of speaking a new language is the first ten seconds in front of a human. A tutor who never sighs, never checks the clock and repeats itself as often as you need removes that. Interrupt, restart, mispronounce it four times: the session does not care.

Sometimes the point is not advice, it is putting a half-formed thought into a sentence and hearing it back. Maya reflects, Julian keeps the late hours, Noor slows everything down for sleep. None of them are therapists, and they say so before you start.

Improvisation needs someone to say the next line. A ship's captain in a failing orbit, a detective with a case that will not close, an archivist in a garden city: each one hands you choices and keeps the scene moving.
A wind-down persona with the speech rate deliberately dialled back: long sentences, unhurried pauses, and questions that get quieter as you go. Not a meditation app, just someone to talk to at the wrong hour of the night.
Short answers, including the ones about what this does not do yet.

Yes. Every character, every scenario and every session on aichatroleplay.live is free to use right now, with no account and no credit card. The preview runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to pay for and nothing to sign up for.
Not yet. Live AI video calling is what we are building toward, and it is in development. What works today is a voice and text session: the character speaks to you out loud with your browser's speech engine, you reply by typing or by talking into your microphone, and an illustrated portrait of the character is on screen the whole time. Every session is labelled as AI-generated.
Pick one of the AI English tutors, Emma for British English, David for business and tech vocabulary, or Sofía if you are still a beginner and want a slower pace. Start a session, then speak or type your answer. The tutor replies out loud, and when your sentence can be improved you get a rewrite card showing the original next to a more natural version, plus a vocabulary card with the useful word from that exchange.
Not in the current preview. The roster is a fixed, hand-written cast of nine fictional adults, which is what lets us guarantee that no character is based on a real person and that none of them are minors. Custom characters will only be opened up alongside moderation that can hold the same line.
Typed messages and scripted replies stay in the current browser session, and the transcript disappears when you close it. Optional speech recognition may send audio to your browser vendor's service. You can use the preview entirely by typing. Characters are clearly labelled as AI-generated throughout, and the site is for adults 18 and over.
